Description

Fate and gods tell a story involving the available characters, using the tale cards. The story is divided in rounds called chapters, and at the end of each chapter, fate decides which character will die based on how the story has developed — and that story develops through destiny cards that tell each god (player) which characters should survive (with the numbers on the destiny card referring to the position of the character cards). At the end of the game, one of the gods wins the game if their favorite character has survived.

So, this is a story telling game where “fate” and “gods” determine the destiny of 7 people. The 7 people are experiencing something bad (but random), in a situational (but also random) place.It’s important for “Fate” to know - that while they influence the story have “end say” on the characters - they are not telling a story they have determined - they are part of an over arching narrative along with the gods on the fate of the 7 people.The reason Fate should NOT have an endgame is because the Gods are the ones who are aiming to win. The gods each receive a card with 2 numbers on it - the numbers correspond with the people in the story numbered left to right with their destiny card indicating their “champion” and their secondary champion if the first one is eliminated.Gods proceed by playing 1 card per turn and telling a story, with fate filling in the rest by playing their cards on anyone alive - that did not get a story from the gods during that turn - the gods can play 3 “Interjections” at anytime overwriting a part of the story by placing a card over another card but once they have used the 3 they can only use their remaining cards for story.The final act of each turn is for fate is to kill one of the 7 people. So naturally after 6 rounds all are dead except 1.A god is the winner if that person is one of their destiny numbers 1-7.All other outcomes means fate “wins”Seriously this game can be amazing but it requires the ability to tie together absurdity.
