I got this to help entertain my nieces and nephew while I stayed with them to help their mom (my sister) prep for her new baby. The kids ranged in age from 2 1/2 - 7 years old. The older two understood the game much better than the almost 3 year old. They had fun turning it on and catching the ducks. The ducks are launched into the air, and are meant to be caught in baskets that come with the game. In our experience, the ducks bounced out of the catching baskets more often than not. I think nets would solve that problem if you have some lying around. In any case, the kids had a good time. The game came with instructions for setting it up and re-setting it: turn the middle counter clockwise to match up two arrows, press down each duck launching spot, set in the ducks, then turn it on). That process was a little too complicated for the kids to follow, so I hope it doesn't matter that they pressed each spot down while setting in the ducks and then turned the toy on without twisting it into place to match up the arrows. If that process is necessary for the longevity of the toy then I suspect it will not last long. The overall design of this toy was cute. I found myself wanting to play it. I felt it functioned well, at least for the few days I was there. It fit nicely back into its box when not in use. Overall, I feel it was a great value for the price.
